Joelle Assaf is a Senior Project Manager for the Middle East and North Africa Unit, based in Beirut, Lebanon. She joined the Berghof Foundation in 2024, and is currently working on a social cohesion and local governance project, “Strengthening Inclusive Local Governance and Vertical Social Cohesion in Lebanon,” in partnership with GIZ. Prior to that, she worked with the UNDP as a conflict analyst.

Joelle holds a master’s degree in Global Diplomacy from SOAS, the University London, and a bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies with an emphasis on cultural communication.
